Monkey Lyly Was Very Quick-Witted and Climbed Into the House to Help Her Mother Get the Key

One sunny afternoon in a quiet village, Monkey Lyly and her mother were playing outside their little bamboo house. The air was filled with the scent of ripe bananas, and the sound of birds chirping added to the peaceful day. Suddenly, Mama Monkey gasped and said, “Oh no! I left the house key on the table—and the door slammed shut!”

Panic flickered in her eyes. Without the key, they couldn’t get back inside to prepare dinner. Mama Monkey looked around, unsure of what to do. But Lyly, small and clever, quickly assessed the situation.

“Don’t worry, Mama,” Lyly said with a bright smile. “I have an idea!”

Using her quick-witted nature, Lyly examined the house. She noticed a small open window on the second floor. Most monkeys wouldn’t dare try it—it was high up and difficult to reach. But Lyly was known for being both brave and smart.

She leaped onto a nearby tree, swung across a low-hanging branch, and timed her jump perfectly. In one graceful motion, she landed on the windowsill and slipped through the gap.

Inside, Lyly tiptoed through the house, her soft paws barely making a sound. She found the shiny brass key sitting exactly where Mama had said—right on the kitchen table. With the key clutched in her hand, she climbed back out and scurried down a thick vine hanging from the roof.

When she landed safely on the ground, Mama Monkey clapped her hands joyfully. “Oh Lyly, you’re amazing! What would I do without you?”

Lyly beamed with pride as she handed her mother the key. “Just thinking fast, Mama. That’s what monkeys do best!”

From that day on, everyone in the village admired Lyly not just for her agility, but for her clever thinking. She had proven that sometimes, brains and bravery make the perfect pair.
